ixigo, Gurgaon based travel metasearch engine, introduced ixigo cabs only a few months back and has constantly been adding new features to simplify getting a cab. Now they have added another interesting feature for people who are looking to travel intercity. ixigo cabs features a reverse bidding model in which the providers compete for the customers. The platform has over 250 providers and the reverse bidding model would mean that the providers will compete with their best price quotes to get the booking. This will keep the costs low for the travellers and is done under 120 seconds.
Outstation and inter city cab bookings with the reverse booking feature is available in around 10 cities of North India currently including Delhi (NCR), Jaipur, Agra, Chandigarh, Rishikesh, Dehradun among others.
Being a meta search, ixigo cabs not only aggregates cabs from various cab vendors but also works with some other inter city cab aggregators like AHA Taxis, GetMeCab and OneWay.Cab. ixigo also recently introduced the option to book Jugnoo autos for local travel through its app. In an industry first feature, the ixigo cabs app allows its users to book a cab offline without the need of any data or Wi-Fi connection.
Travellers can book outstation cabs through ixigo website, Android app or iOS app. The service is expected to be rolled out to more cities in the coming months.
