Ola Cabs introduced the business class service Ola Prime last year to compete with UBER Black. Now they have revamped the offering and added more features like in-cab Wi-Fi and superior vehicles along with the best Ola drivers. Recently their rival Uber announced partnership with Airtel to offer Wi-Fi in Uber cabs.

The new version of Prime is already available for Ola Select customers in Bangalore and to celebrate the launch of refreshed Prime service, they surprised the customers by having them picked up by various celebrities that include former F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, comedian Abish Mathew and supermodel Milind Soman.

They shared a fun video titled ‘Prime Time with Narain Karthikeyan’ featuring the racing driver behind the wheel of a Jaguar accompanied by Abish Mathew. The video starts with Abish putting forward the idea of being chauffeured around by a celebrity and explaining Narain about their plan to pick up Ola Prime customers. It goes on to the part where they pick customers who are astonished on finding them in the cab. There will be more videos coming in the series with other celebrities.

Ola took the fun to Twitter as well with some tweets exchanged between Abish, Ola and lot of excited fans who wanted to be driven around with Narain and Abish.

Right now the new Prime service is available in Bangalore at an introductory price of 13/km and there are around 500 cars in the category.

“We are excited to bring the all new Ola Prime exclusively for our ‘Select’ customers. With Ola Prime, we are offering the best-in-class elements to make for an unmatched ride experience… The relaunch of Ola Prime gives us an opportunity to curate the experience for our users and we are confident, that it will continue to be the vehicle of choice for premium travellers in the city.” said Sudarshan Gangrade, Vice President – Marketing, Ola Cabs

Earlier we have seen Uber organise similar activities with celebrity drivers around the world but this was a first for Ola. The activity will surely give the new service a quick boost and get many users to try out the service. We are just hoping they invite Narain to Delhi when they introduce it here :)
