How we build the tracker

What goes in, where it comes from, how we check it and what the labels mean. If something here does not match what you see on a row, tell us.

What is in the APAC edition

Funding rounds raised by travel startups from 1 January 2026. A company is in the APAC edition when at least one of these is true:

  • HQ in APAC: its headquarters are in India, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Australia or New Zealand.
  • Operates mainly in APAC: it is based elsewhere, but most of its customers or operations are in those markets, as shown in a source or on its own site.
  • Raised from APAC investors: it is based elsewhere, and the round was led by APAC investors, or most named investors are from the region. This is judged round by round.

Companies in the second and third group appear under “Outside APAC, in scope”, with the reason shown on the row and on the profile. The rest of the world follows in a later edition.

What counts as travel

Most of the product or revenue has to serve travellers or travel businesses. General fintech, mobility or software companies with a few travel customers stay out. Some areas sit on the boundary and are left out for now, for example medical tourism, urban ride-hailing and aircraft parts. We use seventeen categories, from hotel tech to cruise and marine, and every company has one main category.

Where the rounds come from

Only public sources: company announcements and blogs, investor posts, company-issued press releases, regulatory filings and the press. We read news feeds and newsrooms every morning and run a small number of web searches to fill gaps. We do not copy other databases or funding tables, we respect sites that ask not to be read by software, and we never get around paywalls.

How each row is checked

Software reads each source page and proposes the facts. Code then confirms that the company name, the amount exactly as written, its currency, the round and the date all appear in the page we fetched. A fact that cannot be found is left blank and the row goes to an editor. Every row shows the source it was checked against and the date of that check.

Verified and Unverified

Verified means a primary source states the round (the company, an investor, a company-issued release or a filing), or two independent outlets report it. Copies of the same story count once, and TravHQ’s own articles and data aggregators never count. Verified means our rule was met; it does not mean we audited the company.

Unverified means one secondary source so far. We show these with a badge when the round is under USD 50 million, and keep checking. Unverified rounds of USD 50 million or more stay off the page until they are verified.

Amounts and currencies

We keep the amount in the currency the source used, and show it under the US dollar figure. Dollars are converted at the European Central Bank reference rate on the announcement date, through the Frankfurter service. When a source gives no amount, the row says undisclosed; we never estimate one. “At least” marks a source that gave a floor, such as “over INR 10 crore”. Cumulative totals are never shown as a round.

Dates, rounds and investors

The date is the earliest date the round was reported in our sources. Round names are normalised (Seed, Series A and so on), and the original wording is kept on the profile when it differs. Investors are organisations; individual angels are counted but never named. “Last raised” on a profile is computed from the rounds, never typed in, and ignores grants, crowdfunding and listings.

What you will not find here

Logos, photos and personal names. Text copied from a source: descriptions are written by TravHQ, and checked so that they do not repeat a source’s wording. Acquisitions, which are not funding rounds.

Corrections

Anyone can report a correction with a link to a public source. A wrong amount is fixed in place with a note on the row, and every change to a published row is listed on the corrections page.

Quoting the tracker

If you cite a figure from the tracker, please credit “TravHQ Funding Tracker” with a link to travhq.com/funding. The facts are as reported in public sources; this is not investment advice.

Credits

Exchange rates: European Central Bank reference rates, served by Frankfurter. Every row credits its own sources by name and link.
